TED TALK

The video i watched was Mechai Viravaidya: How Mr. Condom Made Thailand a Better Place.  This video was posted September 2010.  Mr. Condom walks us through Thailand's plan to raise its standard of living.  Before this movement there were 7 children per family on average.  Thailand persuades women to go on the pill.  The teachers were having condom blowing contests and there was school condom competitions.  The condom soon became a girls best friend.  The average children per home went from 7 to 1.5 and population growth went from 3.3% to 0.5%.  Then Thailand got AIDS.  AIDS education spread through the country and everyone was involved. Captain Condom was their symbol or protection.  Condoms were distributed everywhere.  Soon taxi drivers were distributing condoms and even the police were giving out condoms.  HIV then declined 90%.
